The Courage to Grieve: Love, Loss, and Loving Again

Thursday, January 22, 2026 | Washington, DC

Grief changes us. It reshapes how we move through the world, how we trust, how we open ourselves to connection. And for high-achieving women who've been conditioned to "stay strong" and "keep going," grief often gets pushed aside; something to process later, once the immediate demands ease.

But later never comes. The grief waits. And eventually, it shows up in our bodies, our relationships, our capacity to desire anything beyond survival.

This Salon creates space to honor what's been lost - whether it's a relationship, a job, a dream long deferred, a version of yourself, or someone you loved. We'll explore how to grieve without getting stuck in it, how to hold heartbreak with compassion while staying open to love (whether romantic, platonic, or self-directed), and how to find the courage to desire again when loss has made you want to close down completely.

What happens at The Salon?

✦ 3-hour intimate gathering
✦ Light refreshments and beverages
✦ Facilitated conversation led by Esther Boykin
✦ Connection with women who understand that healing isn't linear

This Salon Is For You If:

You're navigating loss and need community that doesn't rush you through it

You want to explore grief without it defining your entire identity

You're tired of being told to "be strong" when what you need is permission to feel

You're seeking a connection with women who value emotional honesty over performance

You're ready to believe something beautiful is still possible, even after heartbreak
